I was born in Leominster, MA on June 27, 1942 - the first child of Francis and Irene Cross and
I have lived in Leominster my entire life. I am the oldest of 3 children, a sister and a brother.
When I was a baby, I was baptized by my parents in the Catholic Church and I attended Catholic
Church faithfully for many years. I knew about God and I knew about Jesus and I did not question
anything that I had been taught by the church or by my parents. I didn't understand that I was
spiritually blind and would have gone to hell if I had died. I had never been taught what Jesus
himself taught in John 3:3 "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is
born again." I had never read the bible and I didn't know what it meant to be BORN AGAIN.
I didn't understand that my parent's decision to baptize me was not going to allow me to enter
into the kingdom of God. I had no idea that communion, confirmation, confession, going to church
or "being good" would not allow me to stand before the Living God and enter into heaven. I really
didn't think too much about it and just assumed that one day I would die and go to heaven.
When I was just 14 years old, I met Bob Tellier and he became my boyfriend. My mother called
it "puppy love", but that puppy love continued and grew and for the next 7 years our relationship
developed into a commitment and we were married in 1963. We just celebrated our 44th Anniversary.
Bob and I worked "traditional jobs", had lots of friends and activities that kept us busy and we
planned for our future which we assumed would mean children, a home, and stability, but things
didn't happen as we planned. Children never came. We built and moved into a home. We stopped
attending church, Bob had two heart attacks (at age 32), and our marriage began to deteriorate. Things
were not going exactly as we had planned and although we had a wonderful home, a new Corvette, lots
of STUFF, and good jobs, our lives were falling apart.
A friend invited Bob to a Men's Breakfast and Bob began to read and study the bible. I WAS AMAZED at
the transformation that began to happen in his life. I didn't understand it, but he was a very different
man. Eventually, he bought me a bible and suggested that I study it too. I resisted but in 1987, I
began to read every day. I cried out to God to help me to understand who he was and what TRUTH was
and to help me understand what I was reading. At first, it was "just a book", but I continued reading
every morning. When I got to the Book of John, God clearly showed me who he was and that he had died
on the cross for me. My eyes were opened, the blinders had been lifted and I could CLEARLY SEE and
UNDERSTAND the things of God. It was so exciting and it was life-changing. I couldn't get enough of
the Word. I hungered for it. I was a new creation in Christ - BORN AGAIN of the Spirit of God - and
I began a relationship with Jesus that continues to bless and amaze me every day. I am so grateful
for what God has done in our lives and our marriage. Thank you Lord for saving a wretch like me!
Jeremiah 29:11-13 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and
not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray
to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
Living Stone Foundation is what Bob and I will leave behind one day so that other lives can be forever
changed by the Word of God. It has been a labor of love for over 20 years and although we live here,
we are in AWE of what God has accomplished.
